2016 WSL 6-Star Paul Mitchell Supergirl Pro

The world’s top professional female surfers return to Oceanside for another 3-day event July 22 – 24, 2016.  A weekend jam packed with competitions that will have you on your toes and a festival village loaded with female inspired vendors, activities and entertainment.  The event is free to attend!

The event is an World Surf League (WSL) 6-Star event so it offers valuable points for surfers to qualify into the Women’s Championship Tour in 2017.

Who competes?

108 of the world’s top female pros will compete in the largest field of any female surfing event in the world. Some of the world-class pros expected to compete include:

Alana Blanchard, Malia Manuel, Lakey Peterson, Coco Ho, Bethany Hamilton, Sage Erickson, Carissa Moore, Laura Enever, Courtney Conlogue, Dimity Stoyle, Pauline Ado, Anastasia Ashley, Nikki Van Dijk, Alessa Quizon, Johanne Defay, Tatiana Weston-Webb, Silvana Lima and many more.

Exposure
More than 100,000 people watch these female superheroes perform live at the Supergirl events each year in addition to a national TV audience of more than 1 million viewers. The event also reaches more than 30 million consumers through it’s social media and live webcasts.

Festival Village

An experience for all ages, the Supergirl Pro Festival Village includes live bands, a beer garden, food trucks, comedy, surf films, fashion, fitness classes, hip-hop dance, speed art, yoga, autographs from the pros, give-aways, free hair styling by Paul Mitchell, celebrities, games, skateboarding competitions, seminars, more than 50 vendor booths, and many other activities throughout the weekend.

Cause Partners
Since the beginning, the Supergirl Pro has been partnered with Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC), a youth-focused breast cancer education and prevention foundation.  B4BC will be present at the event to promote early detection and a healthy, active lifestyle as the best means of breast cancer prevention.

Supergirl has also partnered with several eco-awareness and sustainability organizations who will also be present in Oceanside.

Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enhancement of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches.

Center for Surf Research is THE international hub for research on sustainable surf tourism and issues of sustainability affecting the industry and broader community.

Television & Live Webcast
The event will be filmed and turned into docu-drama style programming to be aired on FOX Sports. The premier date will be posted on the website and you can check your local listings for dates and times on a FOX Sports network near you.

Directions
The event is located immediately adjacent to the south of the Oceanside Pier at the end of Mission Ave.  Driving from either North or South of Oceanside, take I-5 and exit Mission Ave (exit 53).  Take Mission Ave west for 1.3 miles until you reach North Pacific Street.  There are several City-controlled parking lots at the corner of Mission Ave and North Pacific Street that attendees should park in and then walk down to the beach (which is 1 block west).

Parking

There is plenty of free and paid parking in seven city-controlled lots on Mission Ave within two blocks of the event site (on Mission Ave between Cleveland Street and North Pacific Street).
