PAUL MITCHELL SUPERGIRL PRO ANNOUNCES MUSIC AND ENTERTAINMENT LINEUP IN CONJUNCTION WITH WORLD’S LARGEST FEMALE SURFING EVENT
MULTI-PLATINUM ARTISTS DAYA AND CODY SIMPSON AMONG 11 FREE CONCERTS AND OTHER HIGH-PROFILE ENTERTAINMENT JULY 22-24 IN OCEANSIDE, CALIFORNIA AT THE ONLY WSL 6-STAR FEMALE SURFING COMPETITION IN THE U.S.
Melbourne, FL (July 19, 2016) – ASA Entertainment announced its complete entertainment lineup today for the World Surf League (WSL) 6-Star Paul Mitchell Supergirl Pro. The event will take place for the ninth consecutive year at the Oceanside Pier in Oceanside, Calif. from July 22-24, 2016. The nationally televised event is the largest female surf contest in the world, with 114 of the planet’s top pros expected to compete. Admission to the event and to all entertainment is free.
The event will feature the Supergirl Concert Series, that includes eleven artists performing free concerts in addition to a female DJ competition, appearances by two legendary DJ’s, a professional skateboarding competition, a Celebrity Surf Invitational and a female leadership summit in addition to art, yoga, fitness, dance, seminars, fashion shows, autographs from the pros, hair styling, a food court, a beer & wine garden and many other activities that are pat of the Paul Mitchell Supergirl Pro Festival Village.
SUPERGIRL CONCERT SERIES
The Supergirl Concert Series features 11 recording artists performing free concerts, including headliners Daya and Cody Simpson (who between them have eight songs that have entered the Billboard Top 200) in addition to Disney star Olivia Holt, Megan Nicole, Alexi Blue, Symon, Ellise, Cady Groves, Corey Harper, Jason French and Avery. SUPERGIRL SKATE PRO presented by ACTIVE RIDE SHOP: Saturday, July 23 at 2:30 p.m.
20 of the world’s best female skateboarders will compete in a half-pipe competition.
SUPERGIRL SUMMIT: Sunday, July 24 at 12:00 p.m.
A female leadership panel discussion featuring successful women in sports, entertainment, media, education and business speaking to young women about career goals, paths, challenges and success stories. Panelists include: Lindsey Jacobellis (10-time X Games Gold Medalist and 3-time US Olympian Snowboarder), Neda Iranpour (CW6 News Anchor and 4-time Emmy nominee), Frances Allen (Brand President of Jack in the Box), Vicki Golden (the first woman in 40 years to qualify for an AMA Supercross event and 3-time X Games Gold Medalist), Julie Solwold (Vice President of Global Sports and Events at Paul Mitchell), Megan Batoon (YouTube sensation and star choreographer) and other guests.
CELEBRITY SURF INVITATIONAL: Sunday, July 24 at 2:00 p.m.
A team event featuring celebrities and pro surfers designed to raise money and awareness for charity. Each celebrity is paired with a top pro surfer as “teammates” in two 20-minute heats. Some of the celebrities participating include: actor Trevor Donovan, US Olympian Lindsey Jacobellis, actor Henry Dittman, actress and producer Tanna Frederick, actor Brian Van Holt and other surprise celebrities.
In addition to the top-flight entertainment, some of the world-class surfers registered to compete include current World Champion Carissa Moore (Oahu, HI), current #1 ranked surfer Courtney Conlogue (Santa Ana, CA), Alana Blanchard (Kauai, HI), Malia Manuel (Kauai, HI), Coco Ho (Oahu, HI), Laura Enever (Sydney, Australia), Alessa Quizon (Honolulu, HI), Bianca Buitendag (Victoria Bay, South Africa), Nikki Van Dijk (Victoria, Australia), Lakey Peterson (Santa Barbara, CA), Sage Erickson (Malibu, CA), and 2015 Supergirl Pro Champion, Tatiana Weston-Webb (Kauai, HI).
